Grooming

A Fresh Look Worthy of the Spotlight

Looking good is only part of the experience. Feeling comfortable, cared for, and confident matters just as much!

At Bark at the Moon Hotel & Spa, we know that grooming isn't a one-size-fits-all experience. Every dog comes to us with their own coat type, personality, preferences, and comfort level, and we take those differences seriously.

Whether your pup needs a refreshing bath, a full haircut, a little extra coat care, or a gentle introduction to grooming, we're here to help them look and feel their best.

We believe in honest conversations, realistic expectations, and making decisions that put your dog's well-being first.

Because humanity comes before vanity.

Puppy introduction packages

From Rehearsal to Headliner

Every Rockstar Has to Start Somewhere!

The earlier they start, the easier it gets—for everyone!

Puppy grooming isn't just about looking cute. It's about teaching your little rockstar that baths, nail trims, brushing, and the grooming table are nothing to be afraid of.

Those early experiences help build trust, confidence, and healthy grooming habits that can last a lifetime.

Our puppy packages are designed to introduce grooming gradually, with gentle handling, positive experiences, and consistent appointments that allow your pup to become more comfortable with each visit.

Both packages include four sessions, scheduled every three weeks, and are available for puppies up to 15 months old.

The Rehearsal

Every great performance starts with practice!

Perfect for puppies with shorter coats who don't need regular haircuts, The Rehearsal introduces the essential parts of grooming in a gentle, encouraging environment.

Each visit helps your puppy become familiar with bathing, drying, having their paws handled, and spending time on the grooming table.

Each of the four sessions includes:

  • Bath and ear cleaning
  • Nail trimming and Dremel filing
  • Gentle introductions to grooming equipment and handling
  • A patient, positive experience designed around your puppy's comfort

Opening Act

Getting ready for their first big debut!

For puppies who will need regular haircuts as they grow, Opening Act builds on the same gentle foundation while introducing the sights, sounds, and sensations of haircutting.

Rather than expecting a young puppy to be comfortable with a full adult-style groom right away, we focus on helping them learn the process one positive experience at a time.

Each of the four sessions includes:

  • Bath and ear cleaning
  • Nail trimming and Dremel filing
  • Gentle puppy haircut and introduction to clipping and trimming
  • Familiarization with grooming equipment and handling
  • A patient, positive experience designed around your puppy's comfort

Nine Inch Nails

When Your Rockstar's Nails Are a Little on the Wild Side!

Long nails aren't just a cosmetic concern. They can affect a dog's comfort, movement, and overall well-being.

Our Nine Inch Nails package is designed to help get those paws back on track through four weekly appointments, combining nail trimming and Dremel filing with gentle, patient handling. By working gradually and consistently, we aim to encourage shorter, healthier nails while keeping your dog's comfort a priority.

$60 for all four sessions

Results vary depending on each dog's nail growth, quick length, and tolerance for nail care.

Humanity Before Vanity

When Coat Care Comes First

We love helping dogs look their best, but their comfort and well-being will always come before a particular haircut or style.

Matting happens for many reasons, and we understand that even well-loved, regularly cared-for dogs can develop tangles and mats.

When matting becomes severe, attempting to brush it out can cause unnecessary pulling, discomfort, and stress. In those situations, a shorter haircut may be the kindest and safest option.

Our backgrounds in veterinary medicine influence how we approach these situations. We'll assess your dog's coat, discuss realistic options with you, and work toward a result that prioritizes their comfort while maintaining as much coat as reasonably possible.

Additional Matting Charges

Minor matting: +$30
Extensive or all-over matting: +$60

These charges reflect the additional time, products, equipment care, and handling involved in working safely with a matted coat.

Because humanity always comes before vanity.
